PENERAPAN METODE LANGSUNG (DIRECT METHOD) DALAM PENGAJARAN BAHASA ARAB DI ERA KECERDASAN BUATAN

Abstract

The teaching of the Arabic language in the era of artificial intelligence faces numerous challenges in presenting innovative teaching strategies and methods. The success of teaching can be achieved if the methods employed are appropriate. One of the Arabic language teaching methods considered effective is the direct method. In the application of the direct method, the learning process utilizes the target language (Arabic) to master the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Teachers refrain from using translation into the native language or the medium of instruction during the Arabic language learning process, with the goal of providing students with direct experience and continuous practice through gradually conducted exercises. This research is a literature review (library research) with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data sources used include relevant books, journals, articles, and papers. Data collection is performed through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis methods. The results of this research indicate that the implementation of the direct method in teaching Arabic is still quite effective and is perceived to have numerous advantages that students can attain. Some of these include fostering confidence in practicing the Arabic language directly, leading to the development of a habit. The implementation of this method also requires support from an adequate language environment to assist students in acquiring and developing the learned language skills.
