PERANAN YOUTUBE SEBAGAI MEDIA PENDUKUNG DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PADA MAHASISWA BAHASA ARAB DI ERA PANDEMI

Abstract

In every activity related to learning, there are many ways of delivering it by the teacher to
students, especially Arabic, directly or indirectly. Arabic learning usually does not only occur
among students, but can be done by anyone, especially students and students who study Arabic.
Before the pandemic took place, learning Arabic usually took place directly in the classroom,
namely face to face, but with the current pandemic conditions, an effective way of learning
Arabic is needed to make it easier to learn Arabic at home. Of course, it will be a different
challenge for some Arabic language teachers in delivering the material, because the teachers
will find ways to convey Arabic material well without being able to directly control the students.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, online media became a very influential forum in the learning
process, such as YouTube, Zoom, Google Meet, and other social media applications. For this
reason, the purpose of this research is how students can understand the language of the
learning process, the level of mastery in understanding the material, and how difficult it is in
learning Arabic, with a focus on learning research through the Youtube application. Youtube is
an audio-visual-based application that has a long video duration, so there are various kinds of
videos as references needed there, ranging from science, da'wah, kitchen recipes and many
others. Currently, YouTube is one of the online mass media that is often visited by many social
media users. In this study, the method used is descriptive qualitative analysis conducted by
asking questions via Google Form. The results of this study will show how the role of Yotube is
in supporting the Arabic language learning process and the level of mastery of understanding
Arabic in the Covid-19 pandemic era, as well as the difficulties that occur in using the Youtube
application.
