Abstract

Language has a significant impact on human communication and interaction in everyday life.
The formation of numerous sorts of languages from various tribes or countries began as a result
of these diversified connections. Humans can, however, learn a foreign language that is not
their mother tongue, resulting in language mixing. Many modifications in grammar are caused
by the many mixed languages prevalent in everyday life. However, with the advancement of
increasingly capable technology, all interactions are now possible solely through mobile phone
applications. As a result of this development, the phone now has a lot of different forms of data,
such as sending messages and conversing. This study aims to analyze and identify the types of
code-mixing in the use of everyday mixed languages that are often carried out by students,
especially for AR19 students, Arabic Language and Culture Studies Program, Al Azhar
University Indonesia. In the daily conversations spoken by these students, the researchers used
research with qualitative methods. The researcher collected data in the form of observing daily
conversations of AR19 students in social media chat, namely the Whatsapp group. With the
collection technique in the form of listening / listening, taking notes, explaining the results of the
data, and making conclusions from the analysis. The data collected by the researcher shows the
results of the research that each language mix consists of a foreign language as well as a
regional language. The problem in this research is that there is a mixture of Indonesian and
foreign languages in student conversations which is one of the influences of students learning a
foreign language, namely Arabic. While the regional languages spoken by students, the
researchers found that one of the factors was the influence of everyone's different backgrounds
from ethnicities and local languages, so the researchers found an inward code mixing that
occurred in AR19 students.
