KAJIAN SOSIOLINGUISTIK: ANALISIS CAMPUR KODE PADA SANTRI PONDOK PESANTREN RAFAH AL-ISLAMI BOGOR

This study aims to describe the forms of code mixing or bilingualism and the factors that cause
these linguistic events to occur at the Rafah Al-Islami Islamic Boarding School in the city of
Bogor, West Java. The data that the researcher found was obtained from the utterances of the
students of the Rafah Islamic Boarding School when they were communicating with each other.
While the research method used by this researcher is a qualitative descriptive research method
with data collection techniques using listening and note-taking techniques. Meanwhile, in the
process of data analysis, the researchers did that by using interactive analysis techniques.
Research that uses interactive analysis techniques emphasizes several stages including: data
collection, data reduction, data display and conclusions. So that the results of the research
found by the researchers on this occasion indicate that in the daily communication of the
students of the Rafah Islamic Boarding School there is code mixing in the form of Sundanese,
Indonesian and Arabic. The use of code-mixing is then divided into various types according to
the linguistic structure involved, including: (1) the form of Sundanese-Arabic code-mixing, (2)
the form of Indonesian-Sundanese code-mixing, (3) the form of Indonesian-Sundanese codemixing. Arabic, (4) mixed forms of Sundanese-Indonesian. The forms of code mixing that occur
that are used by students in communicating at the Rafah Al-Islami Islamic boarding school are
divided into various forms according to the linguistic structure which include: (1) word
insertion, (2) phrase form insertion, (3) insertion of expression form. While the underlying
factors for this are due to various cultural factors and the purpose of speech as well as the
ineffectiveness of using foreign languages by students. So we can conclude that the code-mixing
phenomenon is difficult to avoid, especially within the scope of Islamic boarding schools, due to
the various cultures and languages contained in it, coupled with regulations that require
students to communicate using Arabic and English.
