VARIASI JARGON CHATTING TELEGRAM PADA GRUP تالف ارواح

Abstract

The use of jargon in spoken and written form is one of the factors that produces language
diversity in both direct and indirect communication through social media. One of them is the
Telegram application. This study discusses the variations of Arabic jargon used in the تالف ارواح
Telegram Group Chat. The purpose of this study was to identify forms of jargon language
variations carried out by the native Arabic-speaking community on Telegram in the تالف ارواح
group and to determine the motivation for using jargon in communication through social media.
In this study, the method used is descriptive qualitative method, namely analyzing the results of
a study in the form of words. The data in this study are in the form of native Arabic speaker
chats in the تالف ارواحTelegram group which were obtained using the listening and note-taking
technique. Variations of jargon and its forms were analyzed using sociolinguistic theory, then to
examine the context of Telegram conversations containing jargon, the researcher used
discourse analysis theory. To find out the meaning of the jargon, the researcher asked the native
speakers directly. The results showed that there was a classification of forms of jargon
language variations, patterns of jargon language variations and the factors that influenced the
existence of jargon language variations. The pattern of jargon language variations produces 14
jargons in the form of meaning, 13 jargons in the form of adding and changing codes, and 5
jargons in the form of abbreviations.
