FILM SEBAGAI SARANA PENDEKATAN INTERKULTURAL DALAM PENGAJARAN BAHASA ARAB (Kajian Sosiolinguistik)

Abstract

Film is a work of art that has a flow in its delivery. Film is used as a means of conveying the meaning and purpose to the audience. This film was also used by researcher in Arabic teaching and learning as its medium. The effectively of using film as medium of Arabic learning and teaching in this research is studied through a sociolinguistic scalpel from the code switching and code mixing point of view using an intercultural approach entering the industrial era 4.0 in Indonesia. This study uses observation and conversation methods using total participation observation techniques and elicit techniques in data collection. While the pragmatic equivalent method with pragmatic power techniques is used in data analysis. From the observation and analysis result, it is known that film is effective and representative means to understand a culture at the time of the event in a story. This is proven by the answers of the students who can interpret the setting, culture, and events of the film presented. By using a mixture of several languages (Arabic, English and Indonesia) in their discussions, students are more enthusiastic in learning Arabic and can describe clearly, exactly, and correctly the content, historical and cultural aspects of the film they watch.
